On The Road

Connection is really important to us here at the Isle of Harris Distillery. Which is why, despite our remote island location, we make every effort to take our story and spirit out into a wider world, not just through social media but by meeting people in person too.

In Scotland we do this with the help of our Scottish Ambassador, Emma O’Bryen who has been busy travelling from city to city, town to town and village to village since we first appointed her in this important role earlier this year.

Emma spends a lot of time visiting our Click and Collect partners, speaking to the staff of the great bars and restaurants who stock our Isle of Harris Gin, and attending all manner of gatherings, events and festivals to help new friends learn about our work.

She tells us...

"These events I personally enjoy most, where I have the opportunity to tell people about the background to the distillery and the importance of provenance to our distillers and the team. It is a very rewarding part of my job when customers are so engaged and receptive!"

Over the coming weeks you’ll find her at Sotheby’s in Edinburgh hosting a private event before heading for the 4th annual Stirling Gin Festival on the 3rd-4th November. With over 50 gin brands in attendance, this sold-out event should prove to be a fantastic gin-filled gathering.

Then on the 10th-11th November we’ll be at North Hop Aviemore, celebrating some of the finest food, drink and music from across Scotland. Look out for our stand where Emma will be busy with sharing gin samples and our favourite ‘Harris Serve’.

The 18th of November sees Emma at Fizz Feast in Edinburgh, helping them to put some sparkle in this fabulous festive food and drink fair. And keeping the Christmas spirit flowing, we’ll also be at the Humbie Winter Market on November 25th.

Finally on the 9th Dec, Emma heads to St Andrews for The Gin Fayre and their Christmas Special. As well as being able to sample and buy, she’ll be holding a Masterclass from 14.30 - 15.30 on the day, guiding guests through the distilling process, the botanicals, the flavours and the story behind our gin.

There’s always lots more to come so do keep an eye on our Social Media for updates on all our off-island action and Emma’s latest activities, and we look forward to making more connections with you when we get to meet in person.
