HebCelt 2017

It’s that time of year again, as the multi-award winning Hebridean Celtic Festival returns for its 22nd annual festival here in the Outer Hebrides, running from 19 - 22nd July 2017.

This incredibly popular music event is set against the most atmospheric of backdrops, Lews Castle in Stornoway, not too far to the north of us in neighbouring Lewis. It is a real celebration of Celtic culture with music, song, food and drink all on offer, not just on the festival site but in venues across the islands, from community centres to local pubs and bars.

The Isle of Harris Distillery will once more be bringing our spirit to the festival as we join in the party again this year, starting with a special pop-up shop at the HebCelt Festival ticket office on Cromwell Street, Stornoway. The pop-up shop should ensure the hundreds of festival goers flooding into town that week will be able to get their hands on our Isle of Harris Gin with ease.

Our staff will also be on-site at the cocktail bar to bring festival goers plenty of our special HebCelt Harris Gin cocktail. Here’s the recipe if you’d like to try it at home…

50ml Isle of Harris Gin
40ml Elderflower cordial
150ml Cloudy lemonade
- Pour over crushed ice, stir, enjoy.

Finally, we’re also sponsoring the local HebCelt Fringe concert in Tarbert Community Centre on Friday 21st July, giving guests a Harris Gin welcome drink with every ticket to those attending the Na h-Òganaich gig.

Na h-Òganaich are widely credited for having revived an interest in Gaelic music in the 1970s and their 2015 concert at HebCelt was recorded as the fastest selling show in the festival’s history. So we’re very excited to have them with us here in Harris.
