The Christmas Spirit

We’re starting to feel more than a little festive here in Tarbert as we look forward to our first Christmas here in the new Isle of Harris distillery. The peat fire is blazing, the village community Christmas tree is being hosted on the distillery site, we’re making an appearance at the local winter parade and we’ll be welcoming a rather jolly fellow to our fireside next weekend. More on all that soon!
Meantime, our three wise men, distillers Domhnall, Donnie and Billy have been working hard at our golden copper still ‘The Dottach’ to produce enough Sugar kelp infused gin to keep all the good grown up boys and girls happy over the coming season and our team of office elves are hard at work taking orders and shipping them far and wide in time for the big day.
As a small-batch operation we simply aren't able to churn out warehouses worth of our spirit, and indeed, we simply would not want to. With all our production being done by hand here at the distillery we’re keen to make sure each bottle is filled, labelled and sealed with the care and attention it deserves. But we also want to ensure that those of you who wish to share a little Isle of Harris Gin joy this Christmas will not be disappointed.

So today we’re asking everyone who has a bottle of our gin on their wish list to get their letters to Santa’s little helpers here with haste. Our last date for shipping will be the 15th of December but we would encourage you to order sooner if at all possible. Winter weather here in the Outer Hebrides can be wild and windy, with storms stalling even the most sturdy of sleighs and we really want to make sure we ship our goods across the Minch to you with time to spare.
To make the gift of giving even easier from you we have bundled some of our best loved goodies into two special packages, each gift-wrapped and perfectly presented. Our “Gin For Two” box holds a bottle of Isle Of Harris Gin and two matching hand-crafted gin glasses while our “Harris Serve” gift set includes our gin, glasses, some Walter Gregor’s Scottish Tonic and a bottle of Sugar kelp Aromatic Water to add a little maritime flavour to your favourite mix.
We also have our wonderful range of Apothecary products made using local ingredients by the talented Amanda Saurin, including fragrant candles, creams, cologne and much more, all wrapped in our bespoke tissue paper and with the option of adding a personal message to each and every order upon purchase. All just a quick and convenient click away
We hope you’ll consider bringing a little piece of Harris into your home this festive season and that we in turn can help bring a little of our island spirit into your lives this Christmas too!
