The arrival of the distillation equipment

Wash backs arrive in Tarbert

This week a steady stream of low-loaders has been making its way over the sea to Stornoway and then southwards to Harris and the village of Tarbert, carrying the first of the machinery which will produce our Isle of Harris spirit. The first to arrive was our gleaming semi-lauter mash tun supplied by Musk Engineering. This snowy morning saw the arrival of 5 beautiful 8,500 litre orgeon pine wash backs from Browns of Dufftown.

Soon our copper stills will start their 8 day journey from the workshops of Frilli Impianti in Siena, crossing the Alps, the English Channel and finally the Minch, to arrive in Tarbert, weather permitting, the week after next.
